Yasmin is an Intimacy Coordinator and Director, Mental Health Coordinator, Actor, and co-creator of Yoga and Stanislavsky workshops.
She works in both the US and UK.
Intimacy Coordination and Direction + Mental Health Coordination
Yasmin specializes in trauma-informed work and productions involving domestic abuse, queer intimacy, and neurodivergence.
Yasmin trained as an Actor at Circle in the Square Theatre School in New York City and went on to intern at the renowned Actors Studio, before working professionally as an Actor for over a decade.
Her own industry experience, combined with the emergence of the #MeToo movement inspired her to train in a number of mind-body practices, including trauma-informed yoga, meditation, and the Alexander Technique, among others. She undertook this training with the aim of contributing to safer, healthier environments for Actors.
Yasmin’s work is grounded in the non-negotiable principles of Intimacy Coordination and Direction, including:
-
Establishing a culture of consent and respect throughout rehearsals, performances, and on set.
-
Creating safe and supportive environments in which actors feel empowered to understand, communicate, and uphold both their own boundaries and those of their scene partners.
-
Implementing clear, intentional choreography so that actors can focus fully on the emotional and dramatic life of the scene without the additional responsibility of determining or choreographing intimate actions themselves.
-
Maintaining a professional working environment in which scenes of intimacy are approached with the same rigor and professionalism as any other aspect of the production. This includes the appropriate use of closed-set and closed-rehearsal protocols, established communication practices, safe words, and other agreed-upon safeguards.
-
Providing actors with tools for safe decompression and regulation following scenes of intimacy, particularly when the material may be emotionally or psychologically demanding.
Together, these principles create a safe, healthy, and creatively supportive environment in which actors can work with greater freedom, trust, and authenticity.
These practices have become increasingly established within the performing arts and screen industries and are reflected in guidance and protocols upheld by major industry bodies, including SAG-AFTRA and Equity UK.

Yasmin is passionate about being part of work that
tackles taboo and difficult subject matter without requiring Actors to override their own instincts or disregard their own humanity.
I firmly believe that if we give Actors back respect, their agency, and guarantee safety in rehearsal and on set, then we will have Actors who are willing and able to create and sustain their most honest and profound work.
What Actors are saying:
Yoga and Stanislavsky Workshops
Yasmin has led workshops at various institutions in both the US and UK, including the Birmingham Conservatoire, Rose Bruford College, and New College Lanarkshire, as well as independent workshops in New York City and at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.
Yasmin presents the workshops alongside the pioneering Professor Sergei Tcherkasski, a world-renowned Stanislavsky expert whose decades of invaluable research and knowledge inform her work. Yasmin teaches educators and Actors how to seamlessly integrate the principles of yoga with Stanislavsky’s System. This leads to work which is more authentic, transformative, and sustainable.
The workshops also focus on concentration and communication, while exploring how yoga can be used to release excess tension in the body and voice.
The workshops have proven beneficial to actors by providing an understanding of how fundamental aspects of yoga, such as breathwork and meditation, can enhance an actor’s ability to prepare for auditions and manage the everyday stresses associated with being a performer.
